“9to5Mac has posted an email sent to them from a UK reader where Steve Jobs again calls it as he sees it. The UK reader emailed Jobs to ask if the iPad’s Photos app would support Google’s Picasa library format. Jobs’ reply was a little more than a simple ‘no’ this time. Perhaps that’s because he saw it as an opportunity to smack Google again. ‘No,’ Jobs replied, ‘but iPhoto on the Mac has much better Faces and Places features.’”

I’ve sent some notes to the Big Guy in the past, but I never got a response. I think I’ll send another one linked to this post and see if I can finally get me a Jobs reply.

“Why spend more, when you can buy iPad-friendly accessories at your local office- or art-supply store?”

Indeed. While the iPad’s price point is much better than most pundits predicted, it’s still a fair chunk of change. There might not be much left over in the wallet for fancy leather cases or space-age plastic stands. Why not shop at Staples instead?

Dan Lyons, better known as blogger Fake Steve Jobs, has apparently signed a deal with Seinfeld writer Larry Charles to create a half-hour, single camera, satirical TV show about a Silicon Valley hotshot. As of now, Lyons is only writing the pilot script for the series, but since it’s called “iCON,” there will probably be plenty of FSJ’s humor and voice in the series itself. It’s set to air on Epix, which is a $10/month online video subscription service run by Viacom. However, if the show turns out to be a hit, it will eventually appear somewhere on cable.

Holy crabapples, Batman! Wow, I thought I was pretty good on the iPhone’s virtual keyboard, but this kid is probably faster than I am on a real keyboard (and I type pretty fast). And he says he’s trying to get faster. Click the “via” link above for more.

A new survey by research firm Crowd Science brings bad news for BlackBerry maker RIM, and some good news for Apple. The company that comes out best of all, though, is Google, whose Android operating system seems poised to see some major growth in the near future. …

This is no big surprise, and something I’ve known for years. I’ve owned both PCs and Macs, and even from the standpoint of a personal user, I’ve had to do a lot more to keep my PCs up and running than I ever did my Macs. Click the “via” link above for more. …
