No, I’m quite that old yet, thank God. An app in the App Store will
take your photo and do a damn good job of taking 20 to 30 years off
your life. I think I may make this my FB pic for awhile, see what kind
of comments I get.

“The next iPhone screen has been confirmed to be at running at a resolution of 960×640, according to SuperPhone.cz (via Engadget). … This would increase the pixel density to a whopping 320dpi — higher than any other device on the market.”

If this is true, wow. In many ways, the new iPhone will answer all of the criticisms from other platforms.

I’m going to have to check this out. I was never very good at transcribing my music, which is why I can’t remember a lot of my earlier tunes. Click “via” link.

Well, I love this time of year. Blooming flowers, the awakening promise of another summer — and out-of-control Apple rumors. This time, the evidence is quite compelling, though. Click the “via” link above to check out Engadget, where they think they know what the next iPhone will look like.

This is good because I have a first-generation 3G, and it’s getting quite old and will need replacing very soon. So Apple better get moving on it!

“Leaders from the US Army’s technology command visited Apple at its Cupertino headquarters as part of a program to investigate the use of consumer electronic products on the battlefield.”

Well, if we can use our iPhones to turn off the lights in our homes from anywhere in the world, I can’t see why Uncle Sam couldn’t use them to keep soldiers safe on the battlefield. Click “via” link for more…

“Sprint has released an ad that features the iPhone with its Overdrive 3G/4G Hotspot mobile router. The Overdrive allows you to use Sprint’s 4G network with any WiFi capable device.”

My favorite part is the quote from Sprint CEO Dan Hesse. Click the “via” link above for more …

meblue So I’m one of the few people on the planet who hasn’t seen the blue alien epic, "Avatar." Not because I didn’t want to see it, but because the fall/winter was kind of crazy for me — I was working a lot.

But I do love all of the blue folks, and right after the Oscars, I searched in vain for an iPhone app that might turn me into one. It wasn’t to be.

But finally, someone heard my quiet prayers and has come through with PhotoAvatar, which for a cool buck will you turn you blue and into two different other kinds of aliens, as well. The app even has a cool animation that shows your bad avatar self moving your head around and blinking. But, unfortunately, you can only save or mail a photo.

But, for another $2.99, you can get PhotoSpeak in the iTunes store (which is by the same developer). This app will take your picture and then animate to say whatever you want. You can record yourself talking to animate it (see YouTube video in this story), or you can use other recordings.

So what are you waiting for? Get out there and make your blue guy epic. Be sure and send me a link.

Holy crabapples, Batman! Wow, I thought I was pretty good on the iPhone’s virtual keyboard, but this kid is probably faster than I am on a real keyboard (and I type pretty fast). And he says he’s trying to get faster. Click the “via” link above for more.

A new survey by research firm Crowd Science brings bad news for BlackBerry maker RIM, and some good news for Apple. The company that comes out best of all, though, is Google, whose Android operating system seems poised to see some major growth in the near future. …
