T-Shirts, Hoodies, And A New Video

Need something to wear this winter? :: How about a new Steve Sobek/"Mood Swings" hoodie? Yup, that's right, I'm turning myself into merchandise, baby! Head on over to the "Mood Swings" Mothership to get your hoodie, T-shirt, baseball shirt or mouse pad. Yup, that's right, a mouse pad!

So what else is new? Lots. To start with, I also finished the second video for "Naked in the Danger", which of course, is also available over at the Mothership -- in two different flavors. It's based on footage some of my friends brought back from Key West at last fall's Fantasy Fest, which if anyone knows about FF, is a pretty crazy happening with lots of naked people walking around. Thus, the video features a lot of naked people, and comes in a censored and uncensored (you pervert!) versions. Speaking of videos, if you get a chance, get on over and rate it and "G.W.'s America" at Dotmac.info. I've already gotten some hate e-mails from "G.W.," so I must be doing something. Those Republicans can be so hateful sometimes...

Lastly, my Mom came to visit from Maryland this week and brought my sister along. We did the downtown Philly tourist thing and saw Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the Titantic exhibit at the Franklin Institute and went to Pat's for some original Philly cheesesteaks. Hope all is well wherever you're reading this from!

The Playing Field Has Been Leveled ...

... in the music business. :: No longer are musicians -- and listeners -- beholden to corporate conglomerates in order to finance their recordings.

Introducing "Mood Swings," by Steve Sobek, the first CD of entirely original music produced with Apple's GarageBand software. This album was recorded in the dining room of my apartment using two guitars, a $100 microphone, a tube pre-amp, a compressor and a two-octave MIDI keyboard. The things is -- the sound and depth I found using GB surprised even me.

The album took four months to record. Three months after its completion, the cover's finally complete, the Web site is set up and the CD is available for sale at Cafepress.com.

I'm already working on the next CD during some free moments. However, over the coming weeks, I'm going to be working very hard trying to get the word out on "Mood Swings." Got any ideas? E-mail me at frankenmac@mac.com. You can hear samples of some of the songs (in high-quality mp3 format) at the Mood Swings site. And if you like the music, please support it!
